Taking its cue from the premier rock amp PRS Archon as used by Mark Tremonti and his peers, the PRS MT 15 is Mark Tremonti's signature amplifier head. The goal of Mark and PRS is to develop a gain monster but has lots o f headroom and capable of beautiful clean tones --- all in a lunchbox-sized amplifier. They succeeded with the MT 15.

Like its bigger brother PRS Archon, the MT 15 has five gain stages before the Master Volume, which helps produce rich overdrive / distortion sounds with a wide gain range. You can pretty much nail any distortion tone: from classic rock to modern metal. Despite the massive distortion on tap, it never loses note articulation and low end tightness. The power amp tubes have been upgraded to JJ 5881s for grittier distortion even at low volumes. Surprisingly, the clean channel has a sparkly character that makes you forget that this amp is essentially a metal amp. The clean channel also has a push/pull boost control to get that "breakup" overdrive for blues and good ol' rock n' roll.

And unlike most "lunchbox" amps, the Clean and Gain Channels each has its own 3-band EQ so you can precisely shape your tone, especially your live sound. You can also tone down the power of the MT 15 down to 7 watts, so you can enjoy the sound of a cranked-up tube amp without blasting your room apart. Pair the MT 15 Head with the MT 15 Cabinet (sold separately) to complete your compact yet powerful setup.
